Wild forward scores his first goal with his new team during the first period against Chicago.
Jake Lucchini has played in 20 career NHL games with both the Ottawa Senators and the Minnesota Wild. Tonight, in his ninth game of the year, Lucchini scores his second career goal and first with the Wild.
Originally the play carried on as if it hit both the posts and went out but after the play continued for a few seconds, the scorer's table sounded the buzzer singling that Lucchini's shot went in.
Lucchini, 28, was signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2019 after playing four seasons with Michigan Tech. The former Huskies forward has spent the majority of his professional career in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Laval Rocket, Belleville Senators, and the Iowa Wild.
The 6-foot forward played 11 games for the Ottawa Senators last season and scored his first NHL goal in a game against the Buffalo Sabres on January 1st, 2023. Now he's got his first with the Wild and his second career goal in 20 career NHL games.
