
The Wild have plenty of current players and former players competing in the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championships which just started today.
The first game of the tournament was Norway against Switzerland. Mats Zuccarello is playing for Norway and former Wild player Nino Niederreiter is playing for Switzerland. The two forwards were their respective team's recipient of the player of the game award.
Niederreiter, 31, finished the game with a goal and an assist in the 5-2 win. As for Zuccarello, the current Wild forward finished the game with an assist. He assisted on Michael Brandsegg-Nygard's goal.
Brandsegg-Nygard, 18, is a projected first round pick in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft. He is projected to be taken in the mid-to-late first round.
