Which Minnesota Wild player has reached the fastest speed during a game so far this season? Which one has unleashed the hardest shot?
With the NHL unveiling its new data tracking website NHL Edge, that information is available to the public.

The Wild in general rank below the 50th percentile in the NHL in top skating speed at 22.43 but they rank in the 81st percentile in shooting percentage at 12.9.
The beauty of this new feature by the NHL is you can see how certain players rank in the NHL in shooting percentage, shot speed, and skate speed, and you can even see goalie stats like where goalies see the most pucks being shot from.
It probably doesn't come as a surprise to hear that Marcus Johansson leads the Wild in top skating speed, but Calen Addison being right behind Johansson probably does surprise some people.

This is the cool part of the new NHL Edge feature is when you compare two players you can also see where they play most of their game in, like what zone.
I can also find out that Jonas Brodin skates on average 1.40 miles a period and 3.82 miles a game whereas Jon Merrill only skates 0.93 miles a period and 2.36 miles a game.

The Wild rank below the 50th percentile in shots on goal and hardest shot with a top speed of 92.52 MPH when the league average is 95.29 MPH.
Ryan Hartman is second on the team in hardest shot with a top MPH of 90.88 which ranks in the 88th percentile.
Jake Middleton leads the Wild in the hardest shot recorded at 92.52 MPH. He has only five shots on goal this season whereas Hartman has ten. Middleton's 92.52 MPH shot came in the second period against the Toronto Maple Leafs on the 14th of October.
Also worth noting, Filip Gustavsson has faced the fifth-highest high-danger shots in the league at 38 and ranks tied for fifth in total shots against with 128.
