Wild lose both Gustavsson and Kaprizov to injuries in Winnipeg. The last time Kirill Kapriov and the Wild played the Winnipeg Jets it was in Winnipeg last year. In that game, Logan Stanley fell on top of Kaprizov and injured his lower body.
Today, Kaprizov returned to Winnipeg for the first time since his injury and only got to play two periods after he took a few cross-checks from Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon.
The Jets received no penalty on the play but Jake Middleton did drop the gloves with Dillon in his next shift. Unfortunately for the Wild, Kaprizov did not return to the game with what looked to be a lower-body injury.
Kaprizov also ended his four-game goal streak but did extend his five-game point streak to six. But his status will remain in question for tomorrow's game against the Jets.
The Wild also lost Gustavsson after he played the first two periods and stopped 19 shots out of the 22 he faced. It was unclear what maybe caused the Gustavsson injury but maybe it was the push-off he did on Nino Niederreiter's second goal of the night.
Gustavsson did play the rest of the period though so maybe the injury isn't as serious.
Nonetheless, the Wild could be without both Gustavsson and Kaprizov for tomorrow and maybe even longer.
