Former Wild defenseman Dmitry Kulikov was suspended by the NHL Player Safety yesterday for an illegal check to the head.

Former Wild defenseman Dmitry Kulikov was suspended by the NHL Player Safety yesterday for his illegal check to the head on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Conor Sheary.

Kulikov, 33, played in 80 games for the Wild during the 2021-22 season. After the season was over the Wild traded him to the Anaheim Ducks for future considerations.

He only played in two playoff games for the Wild during the 2021-22 season after a bad Game 1 against the St. Louis Blues.

This ultimately led to the Wild traded him to the Ducks for nothing. Now Kulikov is playing for the Florida Panthers where he has notched 16 points in 64 games.
