The Wild don't have any players heading to Finland for the World Championships but they do have a former Wild forward who will.

The Wild have a few players heading to the 2024 IIHF World Championships soon but do not have any players on Team Finland's roster.

Mikael Granlund, who played on the San Jose Sharks during the regular season, will join Team Finland for the upcoming 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship.

Granlund, 32, was a ninth overall pick by the Wild in 2010 and played seven years for the Wild where he recorded 93 goals, 224 assists, and 317 points in 461 games.

He was traded to the Nashville Predators for Kevin Fiala and eventually was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins before he joined San Jose.

During the 2023-24 season, Granlund notched 12 goals and 60 points in 69 games for the Sharks and won the team's MVP award. He has one year left on his contract with the Sharks.
