Zach Parise has never won a Stanley Cup in his 19-year career but he is hoping to put an end to that in his final season. Parise was in Minnesota to start the season but was still without a contract.
He eventually signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche who were one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Since the Avalanche signed Parise they have gone 1-3-1.
Parise, 39, has one goal in six games this season with the Avalanche and told NHL.com's Tom Gulitti, that this will be his final season in the NHL. “Yeah, this is it,” he said. “This is it.”
The Minnesota native spent nine seasons with the Wild where he recorded 199 goals and 400 points in 558 career games. He still ranks third in points and goals and ranks second in game-winning goals with 39 in Wild franchise history.
He will now try to chase down the Stanley Cup for one last time.
