Former Wild Goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen has signed a one-year contract in Winnipeg.

Former Wild netminder Kaapo Kahkonen, has signed a one-year contract worth $1 million with the Winnipeg Jets. 

Kahkonen, 27, started 51 games in his Wild career across three seasons. He went 31-17-4 with a .907 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against-average with the Wild and was eventually traded at the 2022 deadline to San Jose for Jake Middleton. 

Middleton, 28, has been with the Wild for three seasons and has now signed a four-year contract extension. 

The Finnish goaltender went 17-46-11 in 79 games for the Sharks. He had a career .892 save percentage and a 3.71 goals-against-average and was eventually traded to the New Jersey Devils last year at the deadline.

In six starts with the Devils, Kahkonen went 1-4-0 with a .923 save percentage and a 2.51 goals-against-average. He has now signed a one-year deal with the Jets.
