Wild players are not happy with what Connor McDavid did to Marcus Johansson.

ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild have been plagued with injuries all season but have still found ways to win. They lost to the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday and lost another player to an injury.

Marcus Johansson left the game in the second period after he was hit with Connor McDavid's elbow.

Jake Middleton called the elbow "horses—,” He went on to say "if that’s Ryan Hartman or Marcus Foligno, you know what would happen. I understand the refs have a hard job, but that was chickens—. I don’t care that he’s the best player in the world.”

Wild head coach John Hynes was pretty frustrated after the game about the non-call on McDavid's elbow. He didn't even want to give us an explanation or what the referee's told him.

"You know what? I don't even want to go down that road because it would probably infuriate you more than it infuriates me right now, so I'm just going to bypass that," Hynes said on what referee Chris Lee said to him on the hit. "Similar to the other game, not a good answer. Let me put it that way."

Lee told Joel Eriksson Ek that Johansson hit himself in his face with his own stick and that McDavid did nothing.

McDavid did not get a penalty and later scored on a 2-on-1 against Middleton. The Wild defenseman said it was "horses—” how it gets not called then McDavid scores in the third.

Johansson, 34, will be out with an injury now. McDavid will not have a hearing or will be fined for his elbow on the Wild forward.
