The Wild have been bitten by the injury bug recently.

Last season something that hurt the Wild's chances at making the playoffs was a slow start but also many injuries to their top players.

This year the Minnesota Wild (13-4-4) have got off to a great start. Actually, their best start in franchise history. But they have had 26 man games lost this year due to injuries. Marat Khusnutdinov has missed the last two games and Mats Zuccarello has missed the last five games.

Minnesota plays tonight against the Buffalo Sabres. Last game against the Winnipeg Jets, the Wild lost forward Jakub Lauko in the third period to a lower-body injury. He doesn't seem to be ready to play tonight in Buffalo.

They will be without Lauko, Khusnutdinov and Zuccarello tonight. Joel Eriksson Ek and Jonas Brodin are healthy and back from their injuries and Kirill Kaprizov avoided a serious injury and missed only one game.

Nonetheless, injuries are catching up to Minnesota and will begin to test their depth.
