We have an update on the Wild's captain's injury.

ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild are back home for a few days before continuing their three week road trip that includes seven games.

Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin did not practice on Thursday. Marcus Johansson and Joel Eriksson Ek, who both missed the Wild's last game on Tuesday with injuries, were on the ice on Thursday.

Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin said on Thursday that Spurgeon will miss the first part of the road trip.

The Wild play in Columbus on Saturday against the Blue Jackets then go to Florida to play the Panthers on Tuesday and the Lightning on Thursday. Spurgeon will not play against the Blue Jackets and could miss both games against the Panthers and Lightning.

Meaning, Spurgeon is listed as week-to-week now. His injury is just part of the "healing process" from his two season-ending injuries that resulted in two different surgeries last year.
