Four teams will be competing in the 2024 NHL All-Star game in a 3-on-3 style tournament starting on Saturday at 2 p.m. central time. The winners will take home a $1 million prize.
Kirill Kaprizov was drafted yesterday by Nathan MacKinnon and Tate McRae to be on their team. Kaprizov was taken with pick number 11 of the draft.
Before Kaprizov embarked to the NHL All-Star game he joked about how the last pick in the draft might win a car.
“I remember it was like 10 years ago maybe same," Kaprizov said. "Ovi he wanted, last guy won a car or something.”
But no car for Kaprizov this year as he was the 11th pick in the fantasy draft by MacKinnon whom Kaprizov has gone to battle with over the years.
Kaprizov, 26, has 19 goals and 45 points in 42 games this season and will be making his third All-Star appearance in his fourth season in the NHL.
Rick Bowness, the Winnipeg Jets coach, will be the coach for Kaprizov in the All-Star game. Team MacKinnon will feature Cale Makar (COL), Travis Konecny (PHI), Sebastian Aho (CAR), Oliver Bjorkstrand (SEA), Elias Lindholm (VAN), Tom Wilson (WSH), Sidney Crosby (PIT), Jeremy Swayman (BOS), Alexander Georgiev (COL), and MacKinnon (COL).
