Kirill Kaprizov's impressive start earns him NHL third star of the month honors.

ST. PAUL - After an incredible month of October, Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov was selected as the NHL's third star of the month.

Kaprizov, 27, led the NHL with 2.00 points per game in the month of October. He found the score sheet in eight of the nine games he played. His impressive month helped lift the Wild to a 6-1-2 start.

After being announced as the third star of the month Kaprizov picked up two goals and an assist against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.

He extended his multi-point streak to seven games with his 35th career three-point outing - passing Mikko Koivu for the most in franchise history.

Kaprizov also became the first player in club history with a seven-game multi-point streak and the seventh active skater to achieve the feat following Steven Stamkos (9 GP in 2021-22), Connor McDavid (4x; longest: 8 GP in 2018-19), Mitch Marner (7 GP in 2021-22), Leon Draisaitl (7 GP in 2020-21), Nikita Kucherov (7 GP in 2018-19) and Auston Matthews (7 GP in 2018-19).

He had five goals and 18 points in nine games during October. Kaprizov now leads the NHL in points with 21.
