With an assist in last night's game against the Anaheim Ducks, Marat Khusnutdinov recorded his first career point.

Marat Khusnutdinov has been very good on the face-off dot in the three NHL games he has played this year. Last night he went 6-for-9 on the dot and picked up his first NHL point after winning the face-off.

Khusnutdinov won the draw back to Freddy Gaudreau who later dropped it off for Jon Merrill. Khusnutdinov went straight to the net after winning the face-off and Merrill used Khusnutdinov as a screen before firing home his fourth of the season.

"Yeah there you go, I didn't even think of that," Wild head coach John Hynes said after being asked if it's fitting Marat got his first NHL point after winning a face-off. "He's been good on face-offs. Nice to see it, I thought he had a pretty good game tonight. You could see him getting a little more comfortable and impacting the game in multiple ways. It's nice to see."
