The Wild lost 7-2 last night against the Vegas Golden Knights. One of the lone bright spots in the loss was Marat Khusnutdinov scoring his first career NHL goal.

Khusnutdinov, 21, has played in 13 games for the Wild this year and now has one goal and two assists. His goal came on the power play after he tipped Brock Faber's point shot.

"It's a good feeling," Khusnutdinov told reporters after his first goal. "Guys help me. Fabes good shot. A lucky tip."

Johansson immediately grabbed the puck out of the net so the rookie could keep his first goal puck. Khusnutdinov described his first goal as a "dream" despite the loss.

“Dream. It’s a good feeling. But it don’t help. This goal don’t help my team," Khusnutdinov said.

Even though the Wild have been eliminated from the playoffs, fans have gotten to see a glimpse of what the future could look like for the Wild for years to come. Liam Ohgren made his NHL debut and played on a line with Khusnutdinov.

Jesper Wallstedt will start tonight in San Jose after getting his first win and shutout against Chicago last Sunday and Khusnutdinov got his first NHL goal last night.
