The son of Saku Koivu has been drafted by Montreal with pick 70.
The Montreal Canadiens selected Aatos Koivu with the 70th overall pick in the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft. Koivu is the son of the former Canadiens forward Saku.
Saku is the older brother of the long-time Wild captain Mikko Koivu. We wrote about Aatos as a potential player the Wild could target in this year's draft.
Fitting enough, the Canadiens have drafted Aatos. Saku was Montreal's captain from 1999 to 2009.
