Nic Petan has been called up ahead of the Wild's three game road trip in New York. Wild announced today that they have called up forward Nic Petan from Iowa ahead of New York road trip.
The move is pure insurance based as the Wild are set to play three games across four days in New York.
Petan, 28, has been off to a good start in the AHL this season with Iowa and looked great throughout camp and the preseason. In ten games in the AHL, Petan has one goal and 12 points.
The 5-foot-9 forward has averaged over a point per game in the AHL. Petan has recorded 81 goals and 253 points in 247 games with the Iowa Wild, Abbotsford Canucks, Toronto Marlies, and the Manitoba Moose.
The Wild will have an extra forward and an extra defenseman for this road trip just in case someone gets hurt or is sick. Also worth noting that Jared Spurgeon will be on the road trip and could possibly play in one of three games considering the Wild have a back-to-back on Thursday and Friday.
