ST. PAUL, Minn - The Minnesota Wild have traded center Freddy Gaudreau to the Seattle Kraken for a fourth round draft pick.

Gaudreau, 32, has three years remaining on his contract worth $2.1 million. This gives the Wild around $17 million in cap space.

The 6-foot center recorded 18 goals, 19 assists, and 37 points in 82 games for the Wild during the 2024-25 season. He had no points in six playoff games as the Wild's second line center.

The 2025 NHL Draft will take place on Friday and Saturday with free agency starting on July 1st. The trade gives the Wild other pick in the draft. The fourth round pick is pick No. 102.
