Jake Middleton made an immediate impact in his return to the Wild lineup.

ST. PAUL - Jake Middleton missed 11 consecutive games with an upper-body injury after he took a puck to the hand in a game against the Edmonton Oilers. He returned on Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues and made an immediate impact.

Just a minute and 23 seconds into the game Middleton got on the scoresheet. He received a pass from Ryan Hartman and fed it to his defense partner Zach Bogosian who ripped one past Jordan Binnington to give the Wild a 1-0 lead.

The Wild got another quick one but then lost Brock Faber to an injury. After that they gave up four unanswered goals.

Joel Eriksson Ek was able to score the last goal of the second period before Middleton tied the game in the third period.

It came after Mats Zuccarello caught Middleton streaking in on Binnington.

Matt Boldy ended up giving the Wild the lead which was followed by a Marcus Johansson empty net goal with under a minute left. The Wild walked away with a 6-4 win over the Blues in a game where Middleton made a strong impact in his first game back.

"Yeah, it was good to see him back. I know he worked hard over the last few weeks, and we sure missed him," Zach Bogosian said. "So, he made his stamp tonight and it’s good to have him back."
