A mysterious app glitch and ten missing dates on the team's schedule suggest a black sweater is joining the rotation to anchor the franchise's upcoming celebrations.
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild may have provided an early tease of a new alternate jersey coming for the 2026-27 season.
The Wild recently released their uniform schedule through the team’s mobile app, showing when Minnesota will wear its traditional home green, road white and 78s uniforms throughout the upcoming season.
But there appears to be one more uniform missing.
After scrolling through the three announced uniforms, the app displays what appears to be a fourth uniform page. Instead of revealing another jersey and its corresponding schedule, however, the page currently displays an error message reading, “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
The three available uniform schedules also don’t account for every game on Minnesota’s expanded 84-game regular-season schedule.
Minnesota is scheduled to wear its road white jerseys in 40 games and its 78s uniform once on the road, leaving one of its 42 road games unaccounted for.
On home ice, the Wild have 28 games listed for their traditional green jerseys and five more in the 78s. That leaves nine of their 42 home games absent from the currently available uniform schedules.
Altogether, 10 games — nine at home and one on the road — aren’t associated with any of the three uniforms currently displayed in the app.
The lone road game not accounted for is Dec. 10 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, an interesting opponent considering Minnesota and Columbus entered the NHL together as expansion franchises for the 2000-01 season.
Still, the combination of a mysterious fourth uniform page and 10 games missing from the three published uniform schedules certainly gives Wild fans something to keep an eye on.
Minnesota introduced a special 25th-anniversary jersey last season, but wore the commemorative sweater just four times.
If the 10 currently unaccounted-for games ultimately belong to a new sweater, the frequency would suggest a much larger role in Minnesota’s uniform rotation in 2026-27. Hint, they are black.
