The Iowa Wild posted on social media on Monday thanking Cody Franson for his dedication to the team this past year after being the assistant coach.

Iowa indicated they are currently in the process of searching for another assistant coach. There has been no word of Franson’s plans after leaving the Iowa Wild or what led to the decision.

Franson, 36, joined head coach Brett McLean and assistant Ben Simon on Iowa's staff during last season in what was his first coaching position. Franson was the replacement for Pat Dwyer who was called up by the Wild to be their penalty kill coach after they fired Bob Woods and Dean Evason.

The Wild parted ways with longtime assistant coach Darby Hendrickson earlier this offseason as well. They will look to fill the NHL assistant coach job and the AHL assistant coaching job as well.
