Wild announced they have placed Mats Zuccarello on the injured reserve.

ST. PAUL - The Wild announced Friday that forward Mats Zuccarello has been placed on the injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Zuccarello, 37, suffered a lower-body injury during the first period of last night's game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Wild head coach John Hynes did not have an update on the forward's status after the game. Hynes spoke to the media on Friday and discussed both Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek's injuries.

The Wild are giving Zuccarello a 3-4 week timeline on his lower-body injury and are expected to recall a forward from the Iowa Wild of the AHL.

    Eriksson Ek is day-to-day.
