The Minnesota Wild announced today that they have placed Vladislav Firstov on unconditional waivers.

First reported by Michael Russo on Twitter then followed up by an announcement by the Minnesota Wild. Forward Vladislav Firstov, was placed on unconditional waivers.

The Iowa Wild forward was placed on unconditional waivers today for the purpose of contract termination.

Firstov, 22, was a second round pick by the Wild during the 2019 NHL Draft. He was signed to an entry-level contract in 2022 and played in nine AHL games across parts of two seasons. The Wild then loaned Firstov to the KHL to play for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.

In two seasons for Torpedo, Firstov notched 28 goals and 61 points in 114 career games. After their season ended, Firstov and the Wild agreed to have him come back to the AHL and try it again. 

The 6-foot-1 forward played in ten games for the Iowa Wild over the season and recorded two goals and two assists. His contract was set to end after the 2024-25 season but now has been terminated.
