Wild prospect Rasmus Kumpulainen advances to the OHL Championship with the Oshawa Generals.

One of the Wild's prospects, Rasmus Kumpulainen, has advanced to the OHL Championship after their game seven win over the North Bay Battalion last night.

The Oshawa Generals will now advance to the OHL Championship to square off against the London Knights. The first game of the Championship is on Thursday May 9th.

The few days after game six, in which Oshawa lost 8-1, Kumpulainen said "This is what you play for. We're ready to play for each other and embrace the grind tonight, nobody wants this to end."

Kumpulainen, 18, picked up the second goal of the night to give the Generals a 2-0 lead in game seven over the Battalion and eventually walked away with the win.

Minnesota drafted Kumpulainen with the 53rd overall pick in last year's draft. The 6-foot-3 center had 28 goals and 56 points in 58 regular season games for Oshawa and has three goals and nine points in 17 playoff games this season.
