One of the Wild's top prospects picked up his first shutout of the season on Wednesday night against the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Jesper Wallstedt started the year with the Minnesota Wild after earning a spot out of training camp. He was eventually sent down to the AHL with the Iowa Wild.

His first ten starts in the AHL were really rough. The Wild called him up to the NHL on Dec 3 and sent him back down to the AHL after a bit of a mental reset.

In his first game after that, Wallstedt stopped 22 out of 24 shots he faced in a game against the Milwaukee Admirals on Dec 7.

Wallstedt, 22, now just recorded his first shutout of the season after he blanked the IceHogs with a 23-save shutout.

In his last two games, Wallstedt is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage.
