ST. PAUL - Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin announced today that the Wild have reassigned forward Jake Lucchini and goaltender Jesper Wallstedt to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.

Lucchini, 28, has played in four straight games in the NHL for the Wild but now has been reassigned to the AHL. The 6-foot forward has zero goals and zero points in eight games for the Wild this season and is coming off a game last night where he played only four minutes and ten seconds.

The Wild played that game with ten forwards, essentially nine with Lucchini only getting three total shifts in the last two periods alone. Lucchini will return to Iowa where he has 11 goals and 22 points in 28 games.

Wallstedt, 21, was called up for the last four games before the All-Star break but never played. The 6-foot-3 goaltender was recalled from Iowa after Marc-Andre Fleury left Florida's game with an injury but the Wild elected to start Filip Gustavsson in four straight games.

The Iowa Wild play three more games, including tonight, before the AHL All-Star break begins on February 4th. Wallstedt and Nic Petan will represent the Iowa Wild in the AHL All-Star game.

There is a possibility that Wallstedt starts in tonight's AHL game against the San Diego Gulls after Peyton Jones allowed four goals last night to the Gulls in a 6-3 loss.
