Iowa Wild Updates

The Minnesota Wild recalled Vinni Lettieri from the Iowa Wild, the team announced Tuesday morning.

With Ryan Hartman suspended two games for slew footing Alex Debrincat in the Wild's 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, the Wild needed to bring someone up for insurance.

The Wild are 3-9-4 in their past 16 games and 5-10-4 on the season.

They've lost their past seven games and are looking to end their losing skid Tuesday at home against the St. Louis Blues, which starts an important week where the Wild also face the Nashville Predators Thursday and the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday afternoon.

It's not surprising the Wild called up Lettieri as their reinforcement with Hartman out of the lineup.

The 28-year-old veteran forward played well during an extended call-up earlier this season before the Wild reassigned him to Iowa on Nov. 24.

Lettieri scored two goals, recorded 14 shots, won 21 of 36 (58.3%) of his faceoffs and averaged 11:04 during his 11-game stretch with the Wild.

The Wild had their options to choose from with the likes of Jujhar Khaira, Nic Petan and Jake Lucchini as other solid choices in Iowa.

But, Lettieri brings the most upside to the lineup with his speed and shot.

And now he will aim to help the struggling Wild get back on track until Hartman returns on Sunday.
