The Minnesota Wild have received Boston's 2026 sixth-round selection as Pat Maroon played in the Bruins 5-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night in Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs.

The Wild traded Maroon to the Bruins on March 8 — the day of the trade deadline. In exchange for the three-time Stanley Cup winner, the Wild acquired 23-year-old Luke Toporowski and a conditional 2026 sixth-round pick.

On Saturday, the late round selection was transferred to the Wild with the conditions of the pick met (Maroon had to appear in one playoff game).

Maroon recorded an assist and six hits with a +1 rating in 11 minutes, 28 seconds of ice time on the fourth line with John Beecher and Jesper Boqvist on Saturday. Before that, he played in two regular season games with Boston.

With the Wild this season, Maroon had four goals and 16 points in 49 games. The Wild had placed the 35-year-old on injured reserve on Feb. 5 after he suffered an upper-body injury in a loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 27.

Maroon then had back surgery and was unavailable to play for the Bruins after the trade until he returned to make his Bruins debut on April 13.

Toporowski, a left winger, had five goals and 11 assists in 17 games with the Iowa Wild after the trade. The Iowa native is under contract for one more season and should be a key piece next year for the Wild's AHL affiliate.
