Minnesota clears roster space ahead of tonight’s clash with Tampa Bay, signaling the imminent return of veteran leadership as lineup reinforcements bolster a surging Wild squad.
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild (12-3-3) is back in action tonight for the second of a back-to-back, set to face the Tampa Bay Lightning (10-3-2).
Tampa comes in as winners of two straight and will play the front half of its back-to-back.
Minnesota made a few roster moves ahead of its game. Forward Mason Shaw was sent down to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
With both Marcus Foligno and Nick Foligno nearing returns, this is a positve sign for the Wild.
Quinn Hughes said yesterday to Kevin Gorg after the win that the Wild are getting the Foligno's back. This move confirms it.
Michael McCarron got hurt in the Wild's 4-1 win and did not return to the remainder of the game. We will get some clarification from head coach John Hynes at 5:45.
