The Minnesota Wild have traded Sammy Walker to the Utah Hockey Club in exchange for Future Considerations.
When the Wild signed Sammy Walker after his senior season at the University of Minnesota, it looked like they had signed a solid guy to bounce up and down from the AHL and NHL.
In his first season with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, Walker recorded 27 goals and 48 points in 56 games.
The following year, Walker recorded 14 goals and 45 points in 75 games. This season he has just two goals in 30 AHL games and has struggled recently.
Walker, 25, has not scored in his last 12 AHL games and has now been traded to Utah for future considerations. He played 13 games with the Wild and recorded one goal and one assist.
In 156 career AHL games, Walker has recorded 43 goals and 104 points. This trade will provide Walker a fresh start.
