Kirill Kaprizov helps boost Wild to a 5-0-2 start.

The Minnesota Wild (5-0-2) scored the first goal of the game for the seventh time this season.

Minnesota is the fourth team in the previous 20 years to score the first goal in each of its first seven games of a season. Nashville did it in 2015-16, Anaheim in 2006-07 and the Rangers in 2005-06.

The last team to extend the streak past seven games was the Canucks in 2003-04, they did it for 12 games. The Wild's seven game streak also ties a franchise record.

They picked up a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night and Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov was a big reason why. He notched two goals and an assist in the win.

Kaprizov, 27, has recorded two-plus points in four consecutive games. This matches his career long, previously achieved three other times.

He has also become the second player in Wild history to post multiple points in four straight road games. Pierre-Marc Bouchard did it in 2012-13.

It was Kaprizov's 33rd three-point game which trails only Mikko Koivu (34 games with three-plus points) for most in franchise history.

As of Friday morning, Kaprizov is second in the NHL in assists with 10 and tied for second in points with 13. He trails only Colorado's Cale Makar for the lead in both categories.
