The 4 Nations Tournament is officially underway. After a few practices for each team, the tournament is ready to start.
Sweden plays Canada tonight to start play. Sweden head coach Sam Hallam said Wednesday morning that Filip Gustavsson will start in net for Sweden tonight.
Gustavsson, 26, is 22-11-3 this season with a 2.63 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. Linus Ullmark and Samuel Ersson are the other two Sweden goaltenders.
"It's a big honor," Gustavsson told reporters at the Belle Centre. "You compete to play for the national team and then you have a 4 Nations against the best players and you get a chance to be on the team. I'm just going to enjoy it and do the best I can."
St. Louis Blues' goaltender Jordan Binnington will start for Canada tonight against Gustavsson.
The Wild will have three players playing in tonight's game. Joel Eriksson Ek and Jonas Brodin are the other two.
