    The USA Hockey Association announced John Hynes as the Head Coach for the U.S. Men's National Team.

    The USA Hockey Association announced John Hynes as the Head Coach for the U.S. Men's National Team.

    The USA Hockey Association announced today that current Minnesota Wild head coach John Hynes has been named the U.S. Men's National Team head coach for 2024. 

    The U.S. Team will compete in the upcoming IIHF Men’s World Championship from May 10th to the 26th in Ostrava/Prague, Czechia. 

    Hynes has had a rich history of coaching with the USA teams at every level and will get a chance to be the Head Coach for the upcoming Worlds and National's.

    He will be serving as the head coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team for the third time in his career. Once in 2016 and another in 2019. Hynes was also the head coach for the U.S. National Development team for six seasons from 2003 to 2009. 

    Hynes finished the year with a 34-24-5 record which was tied for 12th in the league in points.
