Kirill Kaprizov earns NHL's first star of the week for the third time this season setting a Wild record.
ST. PAUL - No one in Wild franchise history has ever won the NHL's first star of the week three times in a single season, until now.
Kirill Kaprizov's six goals and 12 points propelled the Wild to a 3-1-0 week which has gotten Minnesota back into the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
Kaprizov, 26, has now been named an NHL Star of the Week five times in his career, trailing only Devan Dubnyk for most in franchise history.
His six goals and 12 points led the league and has put the Wild within four points of the final playoff spot in the West. Kaprizov has seven goals and 18 points in his last eight games.
Only Edmonton's Connor McDavid has more points than Kaprizov since February 9th. McDavid has zero goals and 21 assists in that span.
The Wild host the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow.
