For the third straight season, Kirill Kaprizov was invited to the NHL All-Star game to represent the Minnesota Wild. Rather than the usual All-Star game format the NHL went back to a draft. Kaprizov was drafted by Nathan MacKinnon with the 11th overall pick in the draft.

Kaprizov's team had a 3-1 lead into the final minute of the game but allowed goals to David Pastrnak and Connor McDavid with the goalie pulled and eventually fell in the shootout.

On McDavid's goal, Kaprizov was on the ice next to Jeremy Swayman but the team's captain, McDavid, snuck behind Kaprizov and banged home the tying goal into the open net.

The three-time NHL All-Star finished the game and tournament with one shot and eight total shifts. He was a minus one with seven minutes and 20 seconds of ice time.

Minnesota will resume practices next week as they get ready for a road game in Chicago against the Blackhawks on Wednesday to kick off the second half.
