It was announced today that Wild forward Mats Zuccarello will play for Team Norway in the upcoming 2024 Men's World Championship.
"Yeah, my plan is to play World Championship. If I make the team, obviously," Zuccarello said at the end of season availability. "I got to make the team first, but take a couple of days and then keep skating, get ready for that, and after that take a little bit of time off and then do my normal routine workout.
"And then after that, come back here and hopefully get ready for a better season that we had this year."
Zuccarello, 36, had another good season for the Wild. He was a near point-per-game player again after he finished with 12 goals and 63 points in 69 games.
The goal was to make the playoffs which the Wild didn't but Zuccarello hopes that changes next year. He also hopes he shoots the puck more than he did last year. Hopefully, a chance to play in some games coming up can help that goal.
"I don't even know which season it is," Zuccarello said. "If it's 14 or 15, but it's probably the 15 or 14 season that I tell myself I need to shoot more. So maybe the 16th season I'll maybe shoot a little bit more sometimes."
