

Jason Pominville spent four seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he notched 107 goals and 255 points in 199 career games. Last night, the former Wild forward got his jersey retired by the Cataractes.
The former Wild forward was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres with the 55th pick in the 2001 NHL draft. Pominville then went on to play eight and a half seasons with the Sabres before they traded him along with a fourth-round pick to Minnesota for Matt Hackett, Johan Larsson, a 2013 first-round pick which turned into Nikita Zadorov, and a 2014 second-round pick.
Pominville went on to play five seasons for the Wild where he recorded 76 goals and 206 points in 327 games. Pominville signed a five-year extension with the Wild before the 2013-14 season.
The Wild then traded Pominville back to the Sabres along with Marco Scandella and a 2018 fourth-round pick for Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno, and a 2018 third-round pick.
The 5-foot-11 forward finished his career in Buffalo after the trade and played two seasons for the Sabres where he put up 32 goals and 65 points in 155 games.
In 1,060 career games in the NHL, Pominville finished his 15-year career with 293 goals, 434 assists, and 727 points along with 21 goals and 51 points in 81 career playoff games.
