Metallurg announced today that Wild prospect Danila Yurov has signed a one-year extension to stay in the KHL.

It was rumored back in February that the Wild top prospect would sign an extension after he confirmed on 'This is Hockey Brother!' that he is signing an extension with Metallurg of the KHL.
But it is now official after the team Yurov has signed with posted his extension on social media this morning.
It was quite the season for Yurov though. The Wild's 2022 first-round pick led the team in both goals with 21 and points with 49 during the regular season in 62 games. He was second on the team in goals during the 2024 playoffs with six.
His 27 goals and 58 points over 84 regular season and playoff games are the most productive player's D+2 year the KHL has ever seen in its history. D+2 means his second season after the NHL Draft.
Yurov, 20, won the KHL's version of the Stanley Cup this season and even broke a KHL record for most points in a season as a 20-year-old. The previous record was held by Vladimir Tarasenko.
One more year in the KHL will not hurt Yurov at all. In fact, it will give him another year to grow his game and develop before he turns pro with the Wild. He even could play a bigger role next year, like a first-line center role. This extension is good for both Yurov and the Wild.
