
Recently signed goaltender Kyle McClellan has now won the Mike Richter Award.

On Friday the NCAA Announced their Awards for the 2023-2024 season. Newly signed Wild goaltender Kyle McClellan, won the Mike Richter Award.
The Mike Richter Award is given to the best goalie in College Hockey. This year it went to the Wisconsin Badgers goaltender.
McClellan, 25, went 24-12-1 with a 1.94 goals-against average, a .931 save percentage, and seven shutouts in 37 games for the Badgers. He compiled a collegiate record of 41-35-3 with a 2.35 GAA, a .926 SV% and 11 shutouts in 82 NCAA appearances with Mercyhurst (2020-2022) and Wisconsin (2022-2024).
His .931 save percentage led the nation and ranked third in Badgers program history. He became the first Badgers goaltender to win the Award.
The 6-foot-1 goaltender joined the Wild's AHL team (Iowa Wild) on an amateur tryout with the possibility of signing a pro contract for the next season.
