Team Canada has announced their 2026 Olympic orientation camp roster, and three Montreal Canadiens have been invited to attend - center Nick Suzuki, defenseman Noah Dobson, and goaltender Samuel Montembeault.
Seeing Suzuki among the players invited to Team Canada's Olympic orientation camp is not surprising in the slightest. The Canadiens captain is coming off a spectacular 2024-25 season, as he scored 30 goals and set new career highs with 59 assists and 89 points in 82 contests. Given how excellently he played last season, he undoubtedly has a real chance at making Canada's Olympic roster.
Canadiens newcomer Dobson being invited to Canada's Olympic orientation camp also makes sense. He is undoubtedly an elite talent, so he certainly could make a case for himself to make Canada's Olympic roster if he impresses during camp. In 71 games this past season with the New York Islanders, he had 10 goals, 29 assists, and 39 points. This was after he had 10 goals and set career highs with 60 assists and 70 points with the Islanders in 2023-24.
With Montembeault making Team Canada's 4 Nations Face-Off roster, it is understandable that he will now be at their Olympic orientation camp. In 62 games this past season with the Habs, Montembeault had a 31-24-7 record, a .902 save percentage, a 2.82 goals-against average, and a career-high four shutouts.
Canadiens Fascinating Prospect Is Player To Watch
Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck is certainly an interesting prospect in the team's system. The 2022 second-round pick undoubtedly has good potential, and the hope is that he will become a nice piece of the Canadiens' future because of it.
