While it’s a well-known fact that hockey is a business, the players remain human beings and, just like us mere mortals, they do make friends at work. That’s especially true for the Montreal Canadiens, whose post-game celebration, which included Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Christian Dvorak, was called “The Power of Friendship”.
Next season, when the Canadiens win, they’ll celebrate without one of those friends in Dvorak. But on top of being a pivot for the Habs and a penalty kill specialist, Dvorak was also Cole Caufield’s roommate. There’s no doubt the upcoming season will be different for the sniper without his sidekick by his side, but he’ll have to adapt; that’s how it goes in professional sports.

Canadiens: Who Were The Best Americans To Wear The Sainte-Flanelle?
A few days ago, after the news of Dvorak signing a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers was announced, Caufield took to Instagram to thank his friend, writing: "Been a fun time, Rust." Thanks for everything, Fella. Will miss you. And then, he tagged Trevor Zegras, saying, “Enjoy.” The center is one of his friends who was traded to Philadelphia a few days ago.
Thankfully, Caufield seems to be having a good Summer, judging by his Instagram account. There has been a lot of golfing, boating, and a wedding in Scotland (Joel Edmundson’s), and he even attended Wimbledon. Tickets to the classic Grand Slam are never easy to land, but they are well worth it. Tennis on grass often allows for longer rallies than hard surfaces.
It'll be interesting to see if Caufield will look for another roommate or if he’ll have to fend for himself now.
