Montreal Canadiens player Ivan Demidov and his girlfriend's trip to California looks like a good one.
Now that Montreal Canadiens’ sophomore-to-be Ivan Demidov’s mentoring job with Alexander Zharovsky is over, the Russian star has decided to treat himself to a much-deserved break in California alongside his significant other, Ekaterina Yakovleva. The couple had already taken a couple of short breaks this summer, one before Zharovsky’s arrival in Montreal and the other to attend the Portugal vs. Colombia World Cup game with Jakub Dobes. Both Demidov and Dobes are Cristiano Ronaldo fans, which motivated them to take the trip before the goaltender headed home to St. Louis for a few weeks.
From Yakovleva’s Instagram account, it looks like the couple is having a whale of a time, visiting San Diego, Beverly Hills, and bike riding near the Santa Monica pier. The coffee decals she posted from the Beverly Hills hotel Polo Lounge are nothing short of amazing. For a second summer in a row, Demidov has elected to spend his summer in Montreal, and he has made very good use of the team’s training facilities in Brossard.
The youngster’s work ethic is second to none, and he’s been hitting the ice twice a day at the CN Sports Complex and has apparently also organized “improvised” team training sessions. More often than not, he was with his countryman Zharovsky, but we’ve also seen him with Lane Hutson and other teammates. While Demidov is enjoying the USA, Hutson has been on duty with his family’s hockey school.

The summer will no doubt have been beneficial for the two players who must have bonded over the course of Zharovsky’s 40-day stay in Montreal.
