Over the last few years, Montreal Canadiens player Patrik Laine has faced a lot of challenges and mental health issues, which prompted him to create a foundation to help people who are experiencing the same trials. After suffering multiple injuries, the sniper felt so down that he came very near to giving up hockey altogether and retiring, which is part of the reason why he requested a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The foundation’s mission is to advocate for mental health awareness by fostering a supportive community where individuals can share stories, exchange advice, and uplift one another. It is now teaming up with M.A.D Festival to present a fashion show, which will feature Canadiens players and models while sparking vital conversation about mental health.

The exclusive event will take place at the Place des Festivals. The fashion show will take place from 8:00 to 8:45 PM, followed by a VIP reception at The Wilder – Grand Ballets from 8:45 PM. The VIP tickets are currently on sale for USD 360 or CAD 500. They will grant access to the VIP section at the intersection of Balmoral and Mayor Street for the Fashion show and to the event, which will follow immediately after.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Femme de Hockey revealed that, in addition to Laine, Jayden Struble, Alex Newhook, and Jakub Dobes would be taking part in the fashion show. While the tickets aren’t cheap, the entirety of the profits is going to the foundation and is in support of a worthy cause.

In his first season in Montreal, Laine was once again affected by injury issues, starting with a serious knee injury suffered in preseason action that kept him out of the lineup until December. Still, he managed to score 33 points on the season, including 20 goals in just 52 games, and fell back in love with the game.

He will be starting the last year of his four-year deal with an $8.7 million AAV when the puck drops on the season and will be hoping for a healthy year, which would allow him to sign a contract extension or to test his value on the market this Summer, unless of course he is traded at the deadline. If everything goes according to plan, though, the Canadiens won’t be sellers at the deadline.
