Less than a month ago, the Montreal Canadiens held their annual skills competition without Brendan Gallagher; then he missed a practice, and to the most attentive fans, that was a solid clue that the alternate captain was on the verge of becoming a father.

A few days later, the news was confirmed: Emma Fortin had given birth to the couple's first kid, a daughter. Gallagher and Fortin have been enjoying parenting since then and even though the latter is normally fairly active on social media, she didn't post any pictures until Monday afternoon.
The new mother stopped short of posting a picture of the baby's face, but introduced her as Everly Mona Della Gallagher. She added a picture of the dotting parents hands by the baby, of miss Gallagher out on a walk in her pram with the family's dog Skye and one of her grandma's pushing the pram, of the flowers received by the happy couple and of the baby's brand new Canadiens jersey which features number 11 and the name "PAPA".
Our best wishes to the family and we hope they enjoy years of happiness.
