The Nashville Predators extended their losing streak to three games Friday at Scotiabank Saddledome with a 2-0 shutout loss to the Calgary Flames.
Nashville's Juuse Saros and Calgary’s Dustin Wolf battled between the pipes all night in a tightly contested game that remained scoreless into the third period. Calgary scored the eventual game winner on a face-off play and put the game away with an empty-net tally at the end of regulation.

Neither team was able to find the scoresheet during a chippy first period that saw a combined 20 power play minutes between both teams. The Predators' No. 1-ranked penalty kill stifled the Flames on both of their power play chances in the first period, but the Flames were able to kill off the lone Predators power play as well.
Nashville put on a penalty killing clinic at the end of a scoreless second period, killing a 5-on-3 advantage for the Flames with Jeremy Lauzon and Alexandre Carrier in the box. Colton Sissons, Roman Josi and Brady Skjei killed the bulk of the two-man advantage, with Luke Schenn and Michael McCarron coming in for the final shift.
Flames defenseman Daniil Miromanov finally broke the ice at 6:37 of the third period with a quick catch and release off the draw won by Nazem Kadri. The score remained at 1-0 until Saros was pulled for the extra attacker in the final minutes of regulation. With 1:09 remaining, a misplayed puck by Jonathan Marchessault landed on the stick of Blake Coleman, who scored into the empty net for the 2-0 final.
Saros finished with 31 saves on 32 shots faced, while Wolf saved a perfect 29 out of 29.
