Forsberg just continues impressing in this amazing season.
Filip Forsberg has been amazing for the Nashville Predators this season and has been reaching milestones along the way. He has already recorded the most shots in a season by a Predators player with 296, recently passing the previous franchise record of 281 held by Roman Josi from the 2021-22 season, but what we are here to discuss is Forsberg accomplishing two feats in the win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
With one goal and three points, Forsberg became not only the first Predators player to record multiple 40-goal seasons, but the first player in team history to record multiple 80-point seasons as well.
Forsberg scored one goal to push his season total to 40, which also happens to be just two behind his career high and three behind the franchise record held by Matt Duchene. Forsberg's two assists in the previous game pushed his point total to 81 on the season, three from his career high and 15 behind the franchise points record held by Roman Josi. Considering Forsberg has 28 points in his last 18 games, it's still possible to record 15 points in his final 10 games.
With each impressive season put up by Forsberg, it will continue to extend his claim to one day having his jersey retired by the team and being without a doubt one of the best players to play for the Predators. He already holds the franchise record in goals by a wide margin and trails only Josi in points. I don't think it is the last time Forsberg will be scoring 40 goals or reaching 80 points in a season either.
