The Hockey News' Emma Lingan talks Nashville Predators with Braden Gall of 440 Sports and Michael Gallagher of Nashville Hockey Now on The Gold Standard podcast.

In a special livestream edition of the show, the crew recaps Game 6 of the first-round playoff series between Nashville and the Vancouver Canucks. A 1-0 Vancouver win at Bridgestone Arena ended the series and officially eliminated the Predators from the postseason.

The Predators had yet another golden chance to win a home game against Vancouver in the Stanley Cup Playoffs but failed to take advantage. Juuse Saros was elite in net and the offense created chances, but the power play couldn't finish. 

The Canucks scored late to win the game – and the series. Nashville lost all three games at Bridgestone Arena, went 2-for-22 on the power play and couldn't take advantage of the Canucks' third-string goalie. It was a fun, exciting and hard-fought series but the Predators lost Game 1, Game 4 and Game 6 after having a lead in all three games to bring an end to their season. 

The series showed that first-year head coach Andrew Brunette is clearly the right man to lead the Predators, but the Canucks were just too much for them to handle.
