Nashville Predators Trade Mikael Granlund to Penguins

The Nashville Predators have traded center Mikael Granlund to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second round pick.

The Nashville Predators are continuing their massive roster restructuring tonight by trading center Mikael Granlund to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second round pick according to Elliotte Friedman.

Granlund is in his fifth season with the Nashville Predators after being acquired in a 2019 trade with the Minnesota Wild. Last season Granlund set a career high in assists  centering Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene who each scored over forty goals in 2022-2023. This season has not been as good for Granlund who has recorded 9 goals and 27 assists in 58 games.

The Predators signed the 31 year old Finn to a four year, $20 million deal in July of 2021. The Predators will receive a second round pick in return.
