Nashville Predators Select Jakub Milota With the 99th Overall Pick

The Nashville Predators drafted Jakub Milota very early in the fourth round at pick No. 99.

Nashville decided to go with a goalie this time and selected this netminder from Czechia who spent the 2023-24 season with the Cape Breton Eagles of the QMJHL. The rookie posted a 18-11-1 record with a 2.82 GAA, .905 SV%, and three shutouts.

He had a strong Hlinka Gretzky performance, but wasn't as effective in the U18 World Junior Championship for Czechia against some dominating teams. Milota isn't the best goalie in the draft, but what sets him apart is his skating and footwork around the posts.

Milota is described as a goalie who plays a controlled game and is great at following the play when it is below the goal line. He uses his posts often and it makes sense that the Predators would be looking at one of the better goalies in the draft with the rumors Yaroslav Askarov may be traded soon.
