Kraken's Brandon Tanev To Be Held Out For Trade Protection Reasons
The Seattle Kraken will hold Brandon Tanev out of the lineup tonight for trade protection reasons.  The Kraken will be taking on the Nashville Predators on the road tonight and will do so without Tanev. The 33-year-old has been with the Kraken since the expansion and now in the final year of a six-year contract he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he's expected to be traded.  In 60 games this season, Tanev has scored nine goals and 17 points, throwing 122 hits and blocking 91 shots.  Kraken GM Ron Francis had worked to extend Tanev but has maintained his stance that he would be moved if they had not agreed to a contract by the deadline. Now, just about 24 hours away from the deadline, no contract has been agreed to and a move is imminent.  The Kraken are expected to make multiple moves on deadline day and have called up several players from the Coachella Valley Firebirds in prepeartion. On Wednesday night, they recalled Jacob Melanson and Ben Meyers, and this morning, they recalled Cale Fleury and Tye Kartye from his conditioning loan.  Tanev has been a loved player on the Kraken, but his time in Seattle seems to have come to an end.
